Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions for the sale of tickets for events organised by Chalke Valley History Festivals Limited (“CVHF” or the “Company”)(Registered number: 8290260).

By placing an order for tickets all purchasers warrant that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions and the attached Privacy Policy.

  1. Programme changes

CVHF reserves the right to change the programme and speakers at the Chalke Valley History Festival (the “Festival”) if circumstances dictate.  In the event of such a change, CVHF reserves the right, solely at its discretion and without obligation, to provide a similar talk as a substitute event for the original event or, if applicable, offer a full or partial refund for such events.

  1. Tickets and admission

Ticket orders will be processed in the order they are received and are subject to availability.  Tickets are subject to VAT and the prices indicated on the website are inclusive of VAT.  CVHF reserves the right to refuse admission to the Festival.  Under no circumstances are tickets to be photocopied or reproduced in any way.  Tickets are not transferable.  Any tickets that are transferred or sold for commercial gain will be voided and the holder refused entry to or ejected from the venues.  It is your responsibility to check your tickets; mistakes cannot always be rectified.

  1. Prohibition on use of recording equipment

Under no circumstances are audio recorders, video recorders, mobile phones, cameras or other recording devices to be used in the venues of the Festival. They may be seized by the Company’s representatives if used in a venue and returned only at the time the relevant individual leaves the Festival for the day.

  1. Cancellation policy

In the unlikely event that an event at the Festival is cancelled, a ticket holder will be offered the opportunity to attend an alternative event of an equivalent value of the ticket originally purchased, subject to availability.  If the ticket holder does not accept the offer of a ticket at an alternative event or, if there is no availability at such alternative events at the Festival, CVHF may provide, at its sole discretion, a refund.

  1. Refund policy

The Company will not provide refunds of any tickets purchased for the Festival other than as set out in clause 1 and 5 above.  The Company will, at its sole discretion and without obligation, seek to provide tickets of equivalent value in exchange for tickets that are unable to be used by customers.

  1. Delivery of tickets

Delivery of tickets purchased for events at the Festival will be either by post to the address supplied by the purchaser during the online booking procedure, which are sent at the purchaser’s sole risk, or by collection in person at the ticket office at the Festival.  The Company accepts no liability for any tickets which are sent to the address supplied by the purchaser but which are not received.  Replacement for lost tickets will not be posted to the purchaser but will be available for collection at the Festival ticket office, provided that the Company is notified via the ticket office by telephone or in writing in advance of the loss of such tickets and suitable identification is provided at the ticket office on collection of the replacement tickets.

  1. Purchase of Friends membership

By purchasing a Friends membership, purchasers acknowledge that, in return for the payment of the required fee, purchasers are entitled only to the specific benefits set out in the friends membership offer from time-to-time.  Purchasers accept that the availability of all such Friends benefits (including, but not limited to, benefits, if offered, such as: priority booking, segregated car parking and early entrance to talk tents) is always subject to availability.  Purchasers acknowledge that the benefits cannot be guaranteed.  Customers are notified that no further benefits or rights accrue as a result of the purchase of Friends membership beyond those stipulated in the Friends offer.

  1. Liability and Governing Law

The Company shall have no further liability beyond the face value of the ticket purchased.  The Company shall not be liable for any loss of enjoyment or wasted expenditure.  Personal arrangements including travel, subsistence and accommodation relating to an event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk.

Nothing in these terms and conditions seeks to exclude any liability of the Company for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud or other type of liability which cannot by law be excluded or limited.

All of these terms and conditions are governed by English Law and any disputes arising out of any transaction with The Company are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
